About Me

Growing up in Switzerland - a landlocked, mountainous country - did not stop me from dreaming about the ocean. On the contrary, I was fascinated by and passionate about the underwater world from an early age.
My scientific interest in sharks was what initially drew me away from home. I pursued a Master’s degree and a PhD, which gave me the opportunity to live and work for several years in the Bahamas, Seychelles, French Polynesia, the United States, and France. During the pandemic, I decided to return to Switzerland to focus on sharing my knowledge and experiences through outreach activities, such as presentations, articles, radio and TV appearances, as well as accompanying diving expeditions.
My love for scientific research, however, has not faded over the years. By being part of international collaborations, I continue to advance scientific knowledge about sharks.
